Background:
The South Yorkshire Branch of the National Association of Retired Firefighters is dedicated to safeguarding the interest of former Fire and Rescue Service members and their families
The aims of the Association are:
- To promote and safeguard the interest of all members and their dependants and actively engage with other pensioner organisations.
- To promote measures for member's welfare, companionship, and social contacts, and to
- To maintain links with the Fire Service
Why Join:
The most important aspect of being a member of the South Yorkshire Branch is being able to stay connected with past and present colleagues.
South Yorkshire Groups:
At the present time the South Yorkshire Branch is part of NARF No.3 District, and is separated into two meeting groups, the Barnsley and Doncaster Group, and the Sheffield and Rotherham Group.
Subscriptions:
Subscriptions are deducted by the Payroll Section of South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue on a monthly basis from your pension payment and paid directly to the NARF South Yorkshire Branch Treasurer who pays your annual subscription of £8.40 (£0.70 pence per month) to National Association of Retired Firefighters, and your chosen meeting group on an annual basis, as shown below:
- £1.40 per member is used to assist in maintenance of your meeting group.
- £7.00 per members is paid to the National Association of Retired to assist them in promoting and fulfilling the aims of the Association.
Membership Cards:
Please Note: Following a National Council Meeting 04th October 2023 if any NEW member wishes to have a photo ID Membership Card, they should send a passport size photograph showing head and shoulders to NARF National Membership Secretary at the following email address. NARF.Membership11@wmnarf.net
If you do not wish to have a photo style membership card, please do not send a photograph, and a normal membership card will be forwarded by NARF National Membership Secretary.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Association, please complete Parts 1 and 2 of the application form and send both completed parts of the form to the NARF South Yorkshire Branch Membership Treasurer, who will forward Part B of the form to the Payroll Section on your behalf.
